A 25-year-old Hendersonville woman is behind bars in Sumner County on murder charges after she admitted to killing her infant twins, minutes after they were born.According to a Hendersonville Police Department affidavit, Lindsey Lowe gave birth to her first son sometime between 9:30 p.m.
Lowe reported she placed her bare hand over the child's mouth and held it there until the baby fell silent and died.Two days later, around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Lowe's father called police to report he'd discovered a newborn baby dead in a basket.Lowe told authorities she believes she became pregnant during the early part of January.Police said there is no evidence to suggest anyone but Lowe was involved in the newborns' deaths.
Lowe is scheduled to appear in court Monday morning for a bond hearing.A preliminary hearing has been set for September 28 at 9 a.m.
