Beached Whale Lands In Yorkshire Countryside, Half A Mile Inland - VIDEO

A dead whale found half a mile inland isn't part of the typical scenery you'd expect to find in the midst of England's picturesque countryside. But that's just what mysteriously washed up 800 yards from shore on the banks of the Humber estuary at Skeffling, East Yorkshire last week, reports The Telegraph.

With a high equinox tide carrying the 33-foot-long female Sei whale inland, it is thought she died from suffocation after turning over on its blowhole, experts said, according to the Daily Mail.Another recent whale stranding seems to have had a happier ending. A whale stranded off the Florida Keys was saved and is now entering a rehabilitation center for treatment.
